The official website of the 59 club

Derrick Rowe 1956-2023

Del was a stalwart of the 59 right from his teens through to now,
firstly a member, then for many years a Club Leader and Treasurer with
whom l worked closely with for decades. Del brightened the room when
he came in, his quick wit and dry sense of humour never failed to raise
everyone’s spirits. He was one of those people who, others always asked,
when he was coming to a venue, what time will he arrive?
He was held in high regard by all his peers.

He was a true 59er all his life and l count myself lucky to be his mate as well working with him to keep the club going. A lifelong Kawasaki and Ford man, a true petrolhead with whom together we visited the Isle of Man TT races every year, without fail, l always looked forward to his arrival there,as l know many others did, this year was no different, when he turned up to the TT, with his new tent and sleeping bag, l was most impressed he was still camping.

The 59 Club will be a poorer place without him, he got on just doing stuff always without any fuss. We owe him a great thank you for his dedication to the club and his warmth to all his mates. He was taken very quickly through no fault of his own in a road accident. Our thoughts go out to all his family which he always loved and regarded very fondly and were always in his mind wherever he was, a true gent and an honour to have known, never to be forgotten by us all, what great memories he has left with us from his life well spent.
